Education Support

The Padilla Bay Foundation supports education at the Reserve. Over 8,000 school children visit the Padilla Bay Reserve each year, where they experience first-hand the wonders of this valuable estuary. Our programs include field experiences, research-based science education, teacher education, and family fun. Your support will insure the continuation of quality, free programs for members of our community, here at the only National Estuarine Research Reserve in Washington State.

Our Padilla Bay Foundation Fund is managed by the Skagit Community Foundation. This endowment fund provides long-term support and capital as special needs arise. We are adding to the fund with designated donations. Consult the Skagit Community Foundation to learn the many ways to contribute to the Padilla Bay Foundation Fund. 100% of your online donation will go into the managed fund. Please visit on the web, or phone 360-419-3181 to speak to representatives of the Skagit Community Foundation. Thank you!

The Foundation is supporting the Reserve’s planned expansion of its aquarium room exhibits to include a touch pool exhibit. We have raised approximately $127,000 in support of design, professional prospectus and capital construction. The aquarium design firm, TENJI, is working to translate our vision into a state of the art touch pool with ADA accessibility and gradual heights that cater to the adult as well as child explorer. You can help us create an unforgettable experience that enhances the memories of a Padilla Bay visit.
