“Holli and Annie wowed the crowd at the Annual Membership Celebration”

Annual Membership Celebration Dinner – a big success!  October, 2019.

What a nice evening it was to bring together members of the Foundation to celebrate another year of accomplishments, listen to the education team’s enthusiastic tales, dine on delicious food, and visit with friends.  It can’t get much better than that!
Beverages and appetizers awaited the guests’ arrival. In the spotlight were the clams and oysters donated by Taylor Shellfish and prepared by Paul and Vicki Dinnel. An absolute taste treat.

The board president, Sue Russell, shared a snapshot of the year’s successes and the board’s current initiatives. Sue also shared the draft Balance Sheet for 2018-19 which reviewed our healthy financial picture. This year the Foundation contracted with a bookkeeper who has been key to helping us.

The highlight of the evening was a short program provided by the Reserve’s education team. With drinks poured and appetizers in hand, we settled down to a fact-filled and entertaining presentation by Annie England (staff) and Holli Watne (intern). They wowed the crowd with live plankton samples and barnacles actively feeding in “real time” – all projected on the big screen. They also shared their summer fun, leading groups of happy kids on the mud flats.

The evening ended with a splendid buffet dinner prepared by Gere-A-Deli, and visiting with old and new friends.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success, including all those who attended. If you missed the celebration this year, we hope to see you at the event next year!
