Flowers all a’bloom at the Reserve!

So many blossoms from so many trees, shrubs and plants along the trails. Below are a few. Do you know them? Stewardship employee Corinne Gardner and Stewardship Americorp Angelica Lucchetto are working to update the plant guide with color pictures, new descriptions and added species.

A man named Matt Brown died a few weeks ago. And then financial contributions in his honor began coming to the Foundation. None of us currently with the Foundation recognized the name but it soon became clear that Matt was, among other things, a fine photographer and had spent much time years earlier around the Reserve and contributed many of the photographs you see on the walls in the theater! As we have learned more about how special Matt was to so many it has become a great honor for us to receive and manage those donated funds in his honor. Thanks everyone.

Finally a big thanks also to all who donated to the Foundation and thus assist the Reserve in it’s many projects and programs, during the GiveBig Washington campaign in early May. As an example, we are just finalizing awards to two researchers for new projects during the coming months. Without your financial support, we would not be here to receive the charitable grants used to fund such activities.
