Padilla Bay Foundation Early Spring 2025 Newsletter

The busy season at the Reserve is about to start with outdoor work parties and school groups galore!

The Reserve is always in need of folks to serve a 2-hour shift at the greeting desk of the Interpretive Center - between 10 and 4 Wed - Sat. Please give that some thought and contact Chandler at the Reserve for orientation, scheduleng and coaching.

But before Winter left folks still got out for fun.

The Foundation has a nice table display and we were recently at Storming the Sound at Skagit Valley College and also the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Lunch. We visited about the Reserve and Foundation with many folks and made some good contacts for new contributors and opportunities.

Save the date of August 10, 2025 for another fun Brunch at the Bay with funds to be raised for a good cause.

Here is some of the raingear we got from last year Brunch donations. Perfect for this time of year.

If you been out at the Reserve recently you see all this. Got a lot of invasives out, saved the good stuff, and ready for renewal.

Here some new planting around parking area - by recent Stewardship-organized work party.

These little folks hoodies new at the Shop at the Reserve.

SAVE THE DATE! 2025 Smith/Aguero Lecture

SATURDAY May 10 2 pm at the Reserve (Details coming )

One of those outdoor work party groups now.

The Foundation and Reserve recently received a renewal of the Climate Workshops for Teachers Program Grant from the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI.) A real Kudo for the Education staff and their past work.

And finally - the Foundation elected a new slate of Officers recently: President Leah Rice; Vice President Gail Smith; Secretary Laura Schumacher; Treasurer Si Simenstad.

Have a happy Spring and thanks, again, for all your wonderful participation.
