PadillaBay Foundation Late-Fall 2022 Newsletter

Doesn’t look like much - the new emergency power generator - but with a full propane tank installed it is ready for those inevitable Padilla Bay winter storms! Thanks again for all the donations.

October 24 - 28 was the Annual Meeting for the entire National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) and its non-profit “Friends” groups - held in Seattle and co-hosted by the Padilla Bay Reserve! About 300 people attended and 100 of them bussed up and toured the Reserve on Tuesday the 25th. Here is a bunch of them getting an orientation before heading out on a series of round robin tours.

There are many new items, both books and clothing, in the gift shop - just in time for the Holiday Season - making for some great giving. How about a glow-in-the-dark octopus shirt - a hot seller when the NERRS visitors were here!

Last Lupine of the Fall.

What a year so far for the Reserve and the Foundation - the Reserve staff and the staff and Board of the Foundation are all so thankful for such a strong base of members, supporters, and visitors that help make it all work.

The 2022 Candid* (formerly GuideStar) Platinum Seal of Transparency is an honor that recognizes our commitment to accountability, strategic planning, and progress towards our mission.
