Padilla Bay Foundation Late-Summer 2021 Newsletter
August 2021
Quite the unusual summer for all and hopefully all are enjoying and doing well as able. Busy at the Reserve and for your Foundation. (How about our new LOGO?)
Of course the BIG news …
The reserve is OPEN!!!!
10 – 4 Wednesday – Saturday.
Check out new-design shirts and other merchandise while you’re there.
And youth programs have been going strong outside
Your Foundation Board and Amy are developing a “Planned Giving” Program and an additional “Endowment” Program – both of which will help us all provide funds for the very long-term sustaining and improving of the Reserve and its activities. More news and opportunities to participate will be coming this Fall!
We are always anxious for new Foundation Board members. We meet monthly and all are actively involved with projects and committees that best fit our skills and interests. Contact information is below for more information.
You also are always welcome to join a meeting – currently all by ZOOM – and can contact us for date and invite link.
Here is the Touch Pool with happy visitors and another reason to stop by the Reserve. See that cart? You bought it for use at the Touch Pool. Just a small thing, but without the funding from the Foundation, it would not be there.
Amazon Smile! If you will shop with Amazon Smile and select the Padilla Bay Foundation as your charity of choice, we will receive a small portion of your purchase price at no additional cost to you. Every little bit helps – spread the word!
Would you share your talents and skills to support the programs of the Reserve? Foundation members and others within the community are invited to help the board pursue its goals and initiatives by serving on a committee or taskforce. Please contact us if you will offer your ideas and help to improve our website, communications, gift shop merchandising, and fundraising efforts.
The Padilla Bay Foundation’s mission is to provide supplemental funding to support the activities of the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Grassroots involvement of our members is the core of the Foundation’s commitment to protecting our estuaries and supporting the Reserve. Members of the Foundation contribute directly to environmental education, stewardship and research at Washington State’s only National Estuarine Research Reserve – one of 29 in the nation. If not already, please consider becoming a member or making a donation to help support our work
Thank You All – the Padilla Bay Foundation Board of Directors
